Guilty pleasures…we all have them and if you don’t have one…get one immediately! My guilty pleasure is no secret, it’s Project Runway on Lifetime. Nothing completes my week like Tim Gunn wrangling the designers to “Make it work”. In fact, I have adopted this phrase into my normal responses to sticky situations. This season offers new challengers for the designers with the launch of teams.
Through the Lifetime website, viewers can catch up on the latest episodes, rate the fashion, tour the designers portfolio’s and more! I am enjoying the’ Korisms’ tab that displays Michael Kors responses to the runway looks. My first exposure to Michael Kors came directly from watching the Project Runway series and now I am a huge supporter of his designs.

I am sick of winter! As spring fashion emerges in the local stores, I am ready to welcome this season in all elements of my life. I have been adding simple accessories around the house to welcome the new season! Decorating for spring does not have to be expensive or excessive- simple garnishes such as decorative pots, a chalk board and greenery can create the perfect spring finish!
Take a classic piece like the shabby chic dresser seen here and add springish type accessories. I love how they used the pitcher to hold the bright branch that adds the perfect contrast against the green and neutrals. This is a perfect example of bringing the outside in for a charming feel!
Add a more specific holiday feel to your home by adding Easter elements in Apothecary and Bell glass. I purchased moss from my local dollar store and added simple nests and eggs ( can be purchased as a vase filler at Target) to my jars for a simple and clean holiday feel. To create texture and fill the jars, shred colored paper in a shredding machine. For less than $10, you can create beautiful holiday themed decoration!
I love adding a personal element into spring decorating. Pictured here is a simple mirror that has been converted into a chalkboard by covering with chalk paint. Personalize your decorating with a simple message or design. For a color splash, add a few books or large dishes to dress things up!
Post your ideas on how to warm things up around the house!
I am all about easy beauty tricks. Thanks to my amazing friend Pinterest, I have found some great tutorials on effortless looks with just a straightener. Part of having great beauty is using the right tools. Most of my effortless beauty regime derives from using quality products like my CHI straightener.
The Pink Dazzle CHI hair straightener enables you to style your hair by flipping, curling, and most importantly by straightening. Sculpted with a one-inch ceramic flat iron, this CHI ionic straightening iron assures you quick and efficient ironing. It takes only 6-10 seconds to generate a high heat that will keep your hair looking great all day! Check out today’s deal on Sharing Spree for an amazing deal on the CHI Pink Dazzle straightener (only $39) !!! Here are some of my favorite looks via my CHI straightener.
Beachy Waves
Gather hair into side pony tail and twist. Once twisted, use the straightener to clasp the hair from top to bottom for a few short seconds. Once done, spray with holding serum and enjoy easy beachy waves!
Small Curls
Mist hair with curling gel or spray. Wrap 1 inch loose segments of hair around straightener and leave for 2-3 seconds. This is a perfect way to generate movement and body in your hair without looking overdone.
Large Curls
Part hair in 5 pieces, braid, then go over braid with straightener. Let it cool, then spray with holding serum.
What is your favorite look to do with a straightener? Comment and let me know! Have any good styling ideas, comment about it! And be sure to check out the great deal on the CHI straightener here!
The 2013 Oscars dominated my evening last night. My amazing husband watched as I constantly switched channels to get the first look at the celebs and their Oscar worthy fashion! Fashion critics speculated the red carpet would be dominated by black and white gowns, however many attendees donned beautiful gowns in pastels and elaborate sequined silhouettes. Here are a few photos of my favorites styles and what I would call ‘Best Dressed’ nominees!
Besides the lighter colored gowns, I was pleasantly surprised to see such beautiful sequined gowns. The elaborate gowns were primarily darker in color and provided exquisite silhouettes. Take a look!
In terms of beauty, nude glosses and bold red lips with messy hairstyles primarily rocked the carpet. I can definitely see these trends forging its way into summer fashion.
Tell me your favorite look- Who was your best dressed? What trend did you like best?
See you on the red carpet!
One of the most controversial trends this season is the rise of the ‘Mullet skirt’. Short in front and long in back, the mullet trend is gaining a lot of popularity. I compiled a few looks both of skirts and dresses that I feel compliment the silhouette while staying on trend.
Paired with a dressy top, the Mullet skirt provides a simple and classic look for evening.
I love the pop of color with her choice of shoes. This minimalist approach to the Mullet skirt adds sophistication to the overall look.
For me, I prefer the longer version of this trend. The length pf the skirt adds a slimmer look and provides a more cohesive overall appearance.
I prefer the Mullet dresses over the skirts. I would suggest pairing the dress with a tailored blazer and bold accessories.
A perfectly transitional piece, the Mullet dress can easily go from Summer to Autumn with a simple change of shoes. Trade those wedges for a cute, calf length bootie for a full fall look.
My favorite mullet look yet! The Coral color of this frock is right on trend for spring and I love the easiness of this look. Simple accessories like the tan belt and cuff accentuate the dress and provide figure flattering details.
What is your take on this trend? Will you be wearing the Mullet skirt or dress this season?
